Trust in the Change

above is a picture i took from my window.

I've been here in VA for three weeks now, it's been a lot of changes. A new town, a new place to live, new people to meet, new classes, etc. But through all of the newness and the missing of family, I know that this is where God wants me.  Today as I was doing my devotional before class I was encouraged by the words of Psalm 19:
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour fourth speech night after night they display knowledge, there is no speech or language where their voice is heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.  It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart  be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."

Today when i looked out the window I saw the beautiful sunrise and was reminded of the first verse of this Psalm, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands". As I go through this time of change, i am reminded of the God's love for me just by looking a the beauty around me, a simple sunrise, so simple, but so beautiful. Each day I am continually reminded how God is shaping me into the women that he wants me to be, and how I need to trust in him, even when it's hard. Even when i have tons of homework to do. That's been my word this year, trust. Trust in the change, trust in the new, trust in the plans that he has for me. Trust in his good and perfect plan. Whatever you may be going through right now, join me in trusting in him in all things.

  2. This year I am really looking forward to seeing where my business goes this year—and if it will lead to a children's book or stay as a stationery business :D

    1. that would be awesome if you did a children's book! I would so buy it as a gift for someone else :) One of our family friends is a illustrator, and i think she illustrates for a children's book. She's staying at home with her two boys and doing it full-time. I love your stationary though, it's so awesome!

  4. Mmm...wise words, friend! I so agree with you on the beauty in sunrises. I've been really loving them lately and it's a beautiful reminder of God's glory and creativity. I also love what you said about trust. It's something I'm continually learning to do more and more of everyday. :)

so true. they are great reminder of creativity. It reminded me of the verse in Isaiah that says: "and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness,a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."
me too, God's been teaching me a lot about trust lately.
