I was listening to this devotional online today and David Frey(the lead singer of sidewalk prophets) was talking about beauty, not the beauty to describe a persons looks that the world pushes on us. It was talking about God's beauty, that beauty that he created. The video mentions Isaiah 40:22-25 which says--
"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and it's people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, then he blows on them and they wither. and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. "To whom will you compare me? or who is my equal? says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens; who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.."-Isaiah 40:22-25
In verse 26, "Lift your eyes and look to the heavens; who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing..."--Think about that for a second, he calls each one by name and because of his power and strength not one is missing. He see's each one as precious in his sight. Each star and each clipping of grass he created them, he made all of these beautiful things out of dust, As it says at the beginning of Genesis, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. If we just look at the world around us, God's beauty can be found in the midst of chaos, in the midst of heartbreak, God's beauty is right there, we just have to look for it. The video also talks about worship, he says that worship is--"an act that brings a smile to the face of God, an act where we can recognize his beauty".
As you go throughout the rest of your week, remember to find the beauty that God has given us in your day, in the midst of what may be a rough week, remember that his beauty is everywhere, we just have to look for it.
