Simple

My devotional today was about how when you go to church in a different cultural setting, you see the beautiful way that Christians in those far away places worship God. Here's a little snippet from it---
"Hurdle himself into the deeps of almighty God, mount on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not faint"- Sarah Arthur.
As i thought about this, i instantly thought about my trip to Africa and January. When we went to church there it was so much different than going to church here in America. It was truly beautiful, the way they worshiped God. Then i thought of the mission trip i went on to Mexico my sophomore year of college, church there was again a little different. They pretty much had nothing, only a few chairs to sit on and some people playing guitars up front...that was it and yet it was so amazing! That week as we worshiped in that little cement building brought tears to my eyes...it was beautiful. God was definitely there that week and he continues to be there everywhere i go. The worship in these two places was different, but it was beautiful. It was simple, that's why it was beautiful. It made me think about what it would be like if we gathered together in an empty room for church every Sunday, no fancy power point screen or sound system...just some people and a few instruments...think about it and go, grab your bible and soak up his word!

"Praise the LORD.
   Praise the LORD, you his servants;
   praise the name of the LORD.
Let the name of the LORD be praised,
   both now and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
   the name of the LORD is to be praised.
 The LORD is exalted over all the nations,
   his glory above the heavens.
 Who is like the LORD our God,
   the One who sits enthroned on high,
 who stoops down to look
   on the heavens and the earth?
 He raises the poor from the dust
   and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
 he seats them with princes,
   with the princes of his people.
He settles the childless woman in her home
   as a happy mother of children."-Psalm 113
