Four -Act Play

My devotional today was about prayer, here's what it had to say...
I've always felt like each part of the day has it's own mood, as if  the curtain falls between acts and then opens to a completely new scene. Perhaps this is why some Christian traditions mark each section of the day with prayer and scripture reading, sometimes called the canonical hours or the "liturgy of the hours." What would happen if we intentionally invited God into the drama of our lives every morning, afternoon, evening and nighttime? -Sarah Arthur

After i read this, i was reminded of the verse in Joshua that says..

"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful"- Joshua 1:8. God instructs us to meditate on his word day and night...what if we did that with prayer too? This made me really think about what it means to meditate, Websters dictionary definition of meditate is to engage in contemplation or reflection. So this means that we are to reflect and contemplate Gods word day and night.  I don't know about you but this is exactly what comes to my mind when i think about my own personal devotions, i contemplate and reflect on God's word weather it be with others or just by myself. Then after thinking about this aspect of it i went on to think about the prayer aspect, what would happen if we invited God into the drama of our everyday lives each morning, afternoon and evening?  I think we would be filled daily to the brim with him, if we did this on a consistent basis..just think about it....soak that up. As i read Psalm 111, i was again amazed by the amazing powerful, God that we all serve..He is so wonderful and loving, it makes my heart so full! amen to that!

Psalm 111 says...
 I will extol the LORD with all my heart
   in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
 2 Great are the works of the LORD;
   they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
   and his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
   the LORD is gracious and compassionate.

5 He provides food for those who fear him;
   he remembers his covenant forever.
 6 He has shown his people the power of his works,
   giving them the lands of other nations.
7 The works of his hands are faithful and just;
   all his precepts are trustworthy.

8 They are established for ever and ever,
   enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He provided redemption for his people;
   he ordained his covenant forever—
   holy and awesome is his name.
 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
   all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
   To him belongs eternal praise.

After reading this Psalm, i just smiled...and thanked God for loving me more than any person ever could! amen to that!
