The Pilgrim's Way

Today my devotional was about, In medieval times a route called the Pilgrims way led from Canterbury, England to Rome Italy, where those who were taking spiritual pilgrimages could worship at the center of Christendom, the holy city of the catholic church. Then in the midst of my daydreaming i noticed the trail. White pebbles paved the way through the gloom, smooth stones of marble that glowed in the near dusk of that mountain pass. we had found the Pilgrim's Way. Sometimes we know we're on the right path when it's clear the saints have come this way before. God doesn't expect us to carve new trails in the spiritual life: we follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before us. We pray as they prayed, we serve as they served. we seek after righteousness just as they did, we soak ourselves in God's word. which stays true from generation. We follow others along the Pilgrim's way, knowing that in the end it leads to the heart of God-Sarah Arthur
Psalm 25:4-10 says...
   Show me your ways, LORD,
   teach me your paths.  Guide me in your truth and teach me,
   for you are God my Savior,
   and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love,
   for they are from of old.  Do not remember the sins of my youth
   and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me,
   for you, LORD, are good. Good and upright is the LORD;
   therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.  He guides the humble in what is right
   and teaches them his way. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
   toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.

In our relationship with our creator he guides us in the path that he wants us go. Just as it says in verse nine to ten, "He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant."  I think that it's important that we remember that even when we think we have veered off the path, God will guide us right back on and show us the way. He gives us a set of directions as to how our character should be formed. He lays it all out and yet sometimes we decide to veer from it, so remember in those times when you are wondering, "why?" just seek God and he will show you the way :)
