Comfort

 I was watching a video devotional today and the guy was talking about comfort. Throughout the bible God never says, be comfortable. He says go to the ends of the earth and make disciples of all nations. He wants us to go out into the world and do those things that scare us, and do them in his name. I love what it says in Isaiah 8:14, "The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread, and he will be a sanctuary". This verse reminds us that our safety doesn't depend on the things of this world but it depends on going out and doing those things that God calls us do, but we think are scary, and doing them in the name of the Lord Almighty. He is our sanctuary, not this world. In him we find our home, our rest, and our comfort. He is our comfort in the midst of suffering and our hope when we feel like there's nothing left to hope for. So i encourage you to find your comfort in him and not in the things of this world because of the things are only temporary, but in God we find our home.
 
Isaiah 8:11-14
"The Lord spoke to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people. He said: Do not call conspiracy  everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear, what they fear and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread, and he will be a sanctuary"
