"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."--Ephesians 6:10-17
The Full armor of God
Lately I have been reading in Ephesians, and today i came across the verse that i have read many times before..but each time i get something new out of them. Ephesians 6 talks about putting on the amour of God. standing firm in our faith and what God has promised to us, not letting anything else knock us down. Stand firm in with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.." Paul refers to our faith as a "shield of faith..." He makes the point that our faith is what keeps us protected from the troubled world that we live in and that we should always rely on it for our protection while standing firm on the word of God. To me that's the most important thing, standing firm on the word of God. Lately my time alone with God has been lacking, and those days when i do get that time, he fills me up. That's my prayer request this week--that i would get that alone time with God, to study his word as he continues to fill me up. Also that his love would be apparent in my life. That i would put on the full armor of God in everything that i do because trusting in him is all I need to do cause he's got it covered. A godly women after God's own heart--that's my prayer, i long to fall more in love with him daily. keep me accountable on that. As Romans 8:38-39 says, Nothing can separate us from the love of God...rest in that truth as you go throughout your week this week.
