Chosen

1 Peter 2:9 says--"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light..."
My devotional today was talking about this verse and as i read further into the chapter verse 24 tugged at my heart, "He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed" We are a chosen people, God's special possession--God chose you and i to be his children..wow. The God of the universe loves us so much. more than we can ever imagine..that he chose us to be his. That really tugs at my heart. Even though sometimes we sin, he still loves us. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. that's right, nothing.[see Romans 8] God pulls us out of the depths of darkness and gives light to our lives. As verse 24 says, "by his wounds we have been healed". Jesus suffered death on the cross just for you and me...that's huge. My prayer for this semester is that i would fall more deeply in love with him, every moment of every day. he is my beloved. "You are all together beautiful my darling, there is no flaw in you"- Song of Solomon 4:7. Always remember that he loves you more than you can even imagine, we are His chosen people and by his wounds we are healed. amen.
