Hebrews Chapter 3

So this summer my goal is to take time out of my day and just spend time with God. Today when i opened up my bible, i turned to the book of Hebrews. Hebrews chapter 3 says...

"Therefore brothers and sisters, holy partners in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses also "was faithful in all God's house". Yet Jesus is worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder of house has more honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God."

The last part "for every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God",  really made me stop and think about how our faith is kind of like a house and if we stand firm in it than we stay well maintained but if we steer away from God, then our house will need repairs and if we don't fix them right away they can get away from us and start piling up. Just like our sin, once we start living on a path of sin it can get away from us until were so far in that we can't get out without God's help.
The next part of the chapter went on to talk about hearing God speak to us and then turning away in rebellion.
"Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, as on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your ancestors put me to the test".
When i read this, it made me think of doubt and how much we as Christians doubt God and his ability to work in our lives. I know in my own life i have thought this way at times, but i think the thing that we have to remember is that God is capable of so much more than we think. If we just put our trust in him than he will be right there with us every step of the way. i pray that God would put this kind of trust in me and i encourage you to grab your bible and read Hebrews Chapter 3...soak it up :)
