A thought to Ponder

Today has been a very productive day, i've gotten alot of homework done and i've actually gotten ahead on some things. Which is awesome if your a college student, because we tend to get lots of work in in a matter of a day, which is stressful at times but I just focus on the fact that somehow, some way i will get it all done. Anyway, on to my thought to ponder, as i said in a previous post i just finished reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan and i wanted to share with you a quote that i really liked from the book. This particular chapter was talking about people who are obsessed with Jesus.

"A person who is obsessed with Jesus knows that the best thing he can do is be faithful to his savior in every aspect of his life, continually saying "thank you!" to God. An obsessed person knows there can never be intimacy if he is always trying to pay God back or work hard enough to be worthy. He revels in his role as a child and friend of God."

When I read this quote, it really spoke to me because two things that God has been teaching me about this year are faithfulness and intimacy with him. When i say faithfulness, i mean in reading the Bible and praying daily. And intimacy, just setting aside time in my day to spend with God. These two things have been a challenge, but i feel like I have grown so much because of it. Whatever obstacle may be keeping you from these two things, i encourage you to ask yourself if it's really worth not being able to spend time with God or faithfully read your bible. If you have time, go grab your bible and soak up Gods word :)
