Take Up Your Cross- Matthew 16:24

As i look outside i feel like im in one of those snow globes that you shake up and all the snow falls down. Even though it's cold and windy outside this is still the day that the lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. I think that sometimes it is hard to do this especially on days like this when you just want to stay inside and do nothing. I am reminded of the beauty that God has created in nature. Lately i've been thinking about Matthew 16:24 which says, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." I have been thinking about what it is i can deny myself for the kingdom of God and so that i can better serve him. I've read articles about set apart young women who have denied themselves everything that the world says we should have and spend their lives serving the God of universe, through helping the hurting people of this world. In the places where people are hurting the most is where God wants us to be and i think that in my life i need to deny myself things so that i can better serve God and grow closer in the intimate relationship that he longs for us to have with him. So i encourage you to ask God, what you can deny yourself so that you can live your life in intimacy with God and he will take the pen and script your love story.
